The Montreux Jazz Festival was founded in 1967 by Claude Nobs, Geo Voumard and Rene Langel.
The Montreux Jazz Fesitval takes place during the first two weeks of July.

Claude Nobs received the Tourism Prize of Salz Pfeffer. The canton of Vaud gave him the “Prix du Rayonnement” for his contributions to music and he received an honorary doctorate.
